Mad Science


Camp Director/Registrar David Desplaces is your camp director, past treasurer for Pack 505, Den Leader in Pack 505, and was previous a den walker and camp registrar. He is the proud parent of Scouts, Jack (new scout) and Drew (Cub).

Program Director/Co-Camp Director Steve Slack is returning for his 3rd year volunteering for Etiwan Day Camp. His prior roles were Sports Director for 2009 and 2010 Day Camps. He is BSA National Camp School certified, B.A.L.O.O. trained, R.S.O. trained, Youth protection trained. He is in the Pack Committee for Pack 502 as Outing Chair. He is also Asst. Den leader to "da Bears" of Pack 502. He is a husband and proud father of 1 daughter and 1 son (new Scout).

Medical officer - United States Naval Weapon Station Corpmen (rotating)

BB Gun Range Master - Wally Mann is a BSA certified Range Master and has been one of the BB Gun Instructors for several years at Etiwan Day Camp. He is a proud father and husband. His son, Griffin is a Bear Scout in Pack 502 where Wally is one of the Den Leaders and also serves as Pack Trainer. In the Etiwan District Wally is the Current Round Table Leader and Serves on the District Training Committee. He is committed to safety on the BB Gun Range and to teaching each Scout at his own ability level. Fishing - Sean O'Toole, Scout master for troop 529 in Mount Pleasant and has worked camp three yearsd in various capacities.

Crafts – Cheryl Pavella has worked camp for two years and will work to develop the craft and artistic skills of our cubs and webelos. She is Den Leader at Pack 505 and mother of a fine young cub. She has been Den leader for three years.

Program staff can receive one free camper registration, and den walkers receive $45 off registration.

Staff/Volunteer/Junior Staff Registration


All staff or volunteers must register using our online registration. Staff/volunteers MUST also complete the Youth Protection BSA certification (please send copy to Steve Slack) and a health form (part A and B only - NEW FORM , Do not send Physican portion of old form) PLUS insurance card (REQUIRED unless not covered currently).

Parents are responsible for getting these forms to the camp director (your den leader or cubmaster are not responsible) and must be less then 12 months old
